an Arts lover, a bibliophile, living for Christ alone

I am first and foremost a follower of Christ. I chose to go to a small, Christian, liberal arts college to get a BA in Counseling and then an MA in English. Currently, I am living in Scotland, pursuing a PhD in Early Modern literature. The label "bibliophile" (lover of books) can be applied to me. Whether my love of books comes because of my profession or in spite of it, I am not sure.

A word about my blog name, it is one of the rallying cries of the Protestant reformers. They believed that by grace alone (sola gratia) and faith alone (sola fide), found in the scriptures alone (sola scriptura), we have faith in Christ (sola Christus). Sola Christus can refer to Christ's saving power alone (instead of Christ and man's works) or that Christ only is the head of the Church Universal (instead of a man and Christ).

Sola Christus is one of the things that God has been teaching me. For (through, because of, by) Him and Him alone. . .
