The wonderful parts about teaching lit other than the students:
1. Beauty
2. Ideas
3. Having to know modern parallels to make it more understandable/applicable
4. Having an "excuse" to research deeper to understand better for myself. I don't feel confident unless I can talk about a work as if it's my close friend (or personal enemy).
5. Having to know the culture/philosophies/personalities that went into the production of the object.
God is good!

I'm jealous. the only lightbulbs that seem to be going off around here lately are the 60 watt bulbs all over my shoebox, oops, I mean, my apartment ;o) they are dropping like flies. It's almost wierd, as if there is a lightbulb knome lurking in my oven, up to no good, and waiting until I leave for work in the morning to wreak havoc under my lampshades.

But I digress. Great blog! I'll link you to mine soon, I promise :o)
