Today, is CS Lewis' birthday. He would be 111 today, November 29. This year I made my first (hopefully of many) visits to the Kilns, Jack's house in Oxford. Below are some of the pictures I took when I was there. For about the last nine years, I don't think a year has gone by that I haven't read one of Jack's birthday, so happy birthday to one of my absolute favorite authors.
The outside of the house
Jack's bedroom
Jack's study. The group that owns the house is trying to reproduce the titles that Lewis' actually owned along with his canon. Sadly, none of the furnishings are original, although they are period pieces.
WOW! This is incredible. Love the photos.

Ooh, I love the photo of the study! I can just imagine him picking through his library and loading down his poor students with five books to read before their next meeting.

I agree John! And make sure you have some pipe smoke in that picture. :)

I have to say that The Pilgram's Regress is one of my favourite books. I would mind a trip to see the house myself someday.

That's one of the few of his that I haven't read Joseph. You should go and see the house. You know, you can even stay there with the CS Lewis Institute! I would really like to do that someday.
